Message from the Nurse
"Hello, my name is Nancy Kramer and I have
been the School Nurse for Christian Liberty Academy since 1996. I have
experience in Hospital, Community Health, and Agency Nursing. I have loved all
aspects of nursing, but I must say I have really enjoyed being a School Nurse
and feel very blessed to be at CLA and to take care of your children."
I graduated from Bradley University with a BSN in Nursing in
1976 and began my nursing career at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago
working as a Charge Nurse and then a Staff Nurse Specialist in Orthopedics
until 1980. I moved on to work at the Cook County Dept. of Public Health as a
Public Health Nurse until 1983 and then was offered the Head Nurse position in
Pediatrics at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chicago where I remained until my first
son was born. While my children were growing up I worked as an agency nurse so
that I could be home with my children as much as possible. In 1996 Pastor Paul
Lindstrom asked me to be the first Christian Liberty Academy
School Nurse, and the Lord has led me to make this my home since that time. I
initially started in the School Office and shared secretarial duties with
the School Office staff. I have worn many hats here in addition to being the first school nurse: Office secretary, I taught Culinary Arts, started the first website and newsletter, helped with fundraising dinners, and coached Varsity cheerleading, all of which
I thoroughly enjoyed but relinquished the positions when others were available to take over and my school nursing duties increased. As a long-time member of this ministry, I feel
that it's all about the children and giving them the best possible education
and opportunities that we can offer.
Testimony of Faith
My husband and I came to faith after hearing the Gospel from
Pastor Paul Lindstrom at my brother-in-law’s wedding in 1987. The Lord was so gracious in saving us together and we have been here at
the Church of Christian Liberty ever since. My faith in the Lord Jesus Christ
defines who I am, in and out of the Nurse’s Office and classroom. Through my
faith, I know that I have been called to be here at CLA at this time. I pray
and must have faith that the Lord will use me to lead and guide the students He
puts in my life to develop and examine their own faith.
Personal Profile
My husband, Ken, and I live in Palatine. We were both born in Chicago
and raised in the north suburbs. We have 3 sons, all of whom graduated from
Christian Liberty Academy, and 15 grandchildren with another on the way. I am passionate about health, wellness, and holistic healing and am an essential oil enthusiast. I enjoy travel, cooking, painting, crafts,
gardening, reading, and most importantly spending time with our children, grandchildren,
and family. We have been blessed to be members of the Church of Christian Liberty since 1987.
